Ever wondered what's upstairs at The Thoroughbred Center?
The upstairs North Wing of the Main Building was renovated in 1984 by Spendthrift Farm.
These hardwood panel walls have built-in bookcases that hold bound copies of The Daily Racing Form, The Blood-Horse Weekly, The General Stud Book, and other historic data. Mostly from the 1940s through the 1980s but some as early as the 1822!
Persian Rugs cover the hardwood floors.
Woodwork also adorns the ceiling.
A view of the freshly fallen snow and Paris Pike from the Upstairs Conference Room.
Walmac Farm is just across the street. Most days, you will see their horses lingering in the pastures. In the springtime, you can watch as the foals frolick in the fields!
This used to be a U-barn. Now, it's not only home to Central Kentucky Tack and Leather, but also the North American Racing Academy classrooms and the Chaplain's office.
Make plans to visit The Thoroughbred Center this spring!
